Who we are
Global WebForce Limited (“Global WebForce”, “we”, “us”) builds, markets and looks after websites for businesses. We work from Melbourne, Australia and Manila, the Philippines.
This policy covers this website, the enquiries you send us, and the details we hold when you become a client. Our contact details are at the end.
The privacy laws we follow
We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). Where they apply, we also follow Hong Kong’s Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance and the Philippines’ Data Privacy Act of 2012.
What we collect
When you send an enquiry
Our forms ask for your name, company, work email and what you need, plus a few lines about your project. Your phone number, current website and company size are optional. You also tell us how you’d like us to reply.
Along with your answers, the form sends:
- the page you sent it from;
- how your visit began: the first page you opened, the website that linked you here, and any campaign tags in that link (such as
utm_source); - how many pages you viewed and for how long;
- your device type, browser, operating system, screen size, language and time zone;
- your IP address with the last part removed, so it points to a network, not to you.
When you email or call us
Your contact details, and whatever you choose to tell us.
When you become a client
Contact and billing details, and the logins or access you give us to your website, hosting, domain or email accounts so we can do the work.
When you browse this website
We count page views to see which pages help people, without cookies. Each visit is counted with a code made from your IP address and browser. The code changes every day and can’t be turned back into either. We record the page, the website that linked you here, campaign tags and your type of device. We don’t store your IP address with these counts.
Like most websites, our server also keeps standard logs (IP address, time, page requested and browser) for security and to fix problems.
Cookies
This website doesn’t use advertising or tracking cookies, and doesn’t show ads.
So we can tell which page started your visit if you send an enquiry, your browser keeps a small note for this tab only (session storage). It holds the first page, the linking website, campaign tags, pages viewed and when the visit started. It doesn’t leave your device unless you send a form, and it’s deleted when you close the tab.
The website is delivered through Cloudflare, which protects it from attacks. Cloudflare may set cookies it needs to tell people from bots. They’re strictly necessary and aren’t used for advertising. See Cloudflare’s cookie list.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser’s settings.
How we use your information
- To reply to your enquiry and prepare a proposal or quote.
- To do the work if you become a client: build, host and look after your website, and send invoices.
- To keep records of what we agreed.
- To improve this website. We look at visit counts as totals, not to follow individuals.
- To protect the website from spam, abuse and attacks.
- To meet our legal obligations.
We only email you about our services if you’ve agreed to it or you’re already a client. You can unsubscribe at any time.
Who we share it with
We never sell, rent or trade your personal information. We share it only:
- with the providers that run our systems, such as web hosting, email and Cloudflare, and only so they can provide that service;
- when the law requires it;
- when you ask us to.
Information outside Australia
Our team works in Australia and the Philippines, so your information may be seen in either country. Our hosting and service providers may store it in other countries. Wherever it’s held, we take reasonable steps to make sure it’s handled in line with this policy.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries: while we’re talking with you and for our business records. Then we delete them.
- Spam: deleted automatically after 30 days.
- Visit counts: deleted automatically after about 13 months.
- Client records: as long as the law requires for business and tax records.
How we protect it
This website uses an encrypted connection (HTTPS). Enquiries are kept on our server behind a password-protected admin area. Only the people who need them can see them, on a need-to-know basis. Access details you give us for your accounts are kept confidential and used only by the people working on your account.
No system is completely secure. If a breach is likely to cause you serious harm, we’ll tell you and the regulator, as the law requires.
Your choices
You can browse this website without telling us who you are. To reply to an enquiry, we need a way to contact you.
You can ask us to:
- show you the personal information we hold about you;
- correct it;
- delete it, unless the law says we must keep it;
- stop sending you marketing emails.
Email enquiry@globalwebforce.com. We’ll reply within 30 days. Usually there’s no fee.
Complaints
If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, tell us first and we’ll try to fix it. If you’re still not satisfied, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
Children
This website and our services are for businesses. We don’t knowingly collect information from children. If you think a child has sent us their details, contact us and we’ll delete them.
Websites we host for clients
When we host or look after a client’s website or email, the client decides what it collects and is responsible for its own privacy policy. We handle that information only to provide our services to them.
Other websites
Links to other websites, such as LinkedIn or Behance, are covered by those websites’ own privacy policies.
Changes to this policy
We’ll post any changes on this page and update the date at the top.
